Private Lessons

Jeremy's StudioI am an experienced professional guitar teacher. I’ve been teaching since 2002. I’ve been a Wakefield resident since 2010 but only recently (fall 2016) moved my teaching studio to Wakefield, MA. I take students of all ages with all different abilities interested in all styles.

My lessons are based on your goals. If you live for rock music or are studying for school band, are a pop music junky, or have discovered country, you’re a punk, or a fan of blues or jazz I’ll help you work towards mastering the music you choose. Electric, acoustic or bass guitar–your style, your choice!

Rates: Weekly lessons available at $25 for a half hour or $40 for an hour. For children, the half hour is appropriate. For adults or children with more experience and a longer attention span the full hour lesson is beneficial.

My material is age appropriate and we can discuss together any basic concept or theme you are interested in bringing to their attention. My music background covers many areas, from learning an instrument, teaching an instrument, finding the right higher educational curriculum, starting a band, areas of interest to study in the music industry, recording music and for the younger ages simply bringing an instrument or two, teaching about the parts of it and then allowing them the opportunity to play it.

About

Jeremy with GuitarA native of New Hampshire, I now call Wakefield, MA home.  I am a husband and father of two boys, who has been actively playing guitar for 30 years.

My professional teaching career began more than 14 years ago, mostly through Daren’s Music in Derry, NH (business sold in 2016).  At Daren’s I also worked in instrument and electronics repair service (and occasionally sales- which I was never good at). In addition to teaching guitar, I also teach bass guitar and ukulele. While not my strong suit, I do enjoy playing the banjo, mandolin, piano, organ and drums.

My degree is in Music Performance and Sound Recording Technology from UMass Lowell, graduating Cum Laude in 1999.  I have continued to professionally maintain the sound recording studios there since 2003.

Prior to my work at Daren’s and just after completing my college degree, I traveled the country installing and fixing recording studio equipment, clients I did work for included Brian Wilson, Jay Z, Godsmack, Bon Jovi, and mostly guys you’ve never heard of whose names are buried somewhere in the record’s liner notes.

My studio houses an assortment of instruments, including drumset, organ, keyboard, acoustic, electric and bass guitars, a trombone, ukuleles, bongos and an assortment of percussion toys.

I am a baseball enthusiast (proudly part of Red Sox Nation), enjoy spending time with my family and teaching my own children to appreciate music.
